Nodar v. Galbreath
Florida Supreme Court
462 So. 2d 803 (1984)
- Written by Kheana Pollard, JD
Facts
Joseph Nodar’s (defendant) son was a tenth-grade gifted student. His son’s teacher was Patricia Galbreath (plaintiff). Nodar went to a Broward County school-district board meeting and complained that Galbreath harassed his son, that Galbreath was not qualified to teach, and that he was unhappy with Galbreath’s refusal to adhere to the required curriculum. Galbreath brought an action against Nodar for defamation. The trial court found in favor of Galbreath. Nodar appealed, and the district court affirmed. Again, Nodar appealed.
