Facts
The State of Alabama (plaintiff) successfully prosecuted Bennett Parsons's wife and daughter (defendants) for his murder. The wife's lawyer appealed on her behalf to the Alabama Supreme Court, contending that the wife was insane and subject to delusions that impelled her to shoot and kill Parsons.
