Facts
L. Payne (plaintiff) owned a store near the Western & Atlantic Railroad Company (Western) (defendant) depot in Chattanooga, where he catered primarily to Western’s employees. Western’s general agent issued an order that any employee trading with Payne would be discharged. Payne sued Western, claiming that the order caused damage to his business and his reputation. The trial court sustained Western’s demurrer, and Payne appealed.
