Facts
Anderson (defendant) kidnapped and murdered Margaret Armstrong on a campground. Anderson suspected that Armstrong had molested two girls who lived in the camp. At trial, Anderson alleged that one of the girls’ fathers, Ron Kiern, had threatened to beat Anderson if he did not kill Armstrong. The jury convicted Anderson of both kidnapping and murder in the first degree.
