Facts
Eileen Shaughnessy (defendant) was a passenger in a car. Shaughnessy believed that the driver was going to a public park. However, the driver drove into a private facility on the other side of the street. The facility’s guard stopped the car. The police were called, and Shaughnessy and the other occupants of the car were charged with trespassing. The district court reviewed the case in order to rule on the trespassing charge.
