Facts
Utter (defendant) induced Norma Wilson to take a trip with him to Europe with the intent and purpose of killing her there. Prior to leaving, Utter purchased the tickets and the murder weapon. Thereafter, the two made the trip to Europe and Utter killed Wilson in Spain. Utter was charged in California with several counts, including murder and robbery. Utter was convicted and he appealed, claiming that the California court lacked jurisdiction to convict him.
