Facts
Bazeley (defendant) was a teller at a bank owned by Esdaile and Hammett. In January 1799, a customer deposited bank notes and cash for an account. Bazeley deposited most of what he received into the account, but placed one bank note in his pocket, which he later converted to his own use. He was prosecuted for larceny.
