Robinson v. Robinson
California Court of Appeal
150 P.2d 7 (1944)
- Written by Maggy Gregory, JD
Facts
Lewis Robinson (plaintiff) was married to Theresa Robinson (defendant) while the two of them resided at 1609 East 110th Street in Los Angeles, a residence owned by Lewis. Theresa filed for separate maintenance and later filed for divorce, confirming as fact in her complaint for divorce that 1609 East 110th Street was the separately owned property of Lewis and that she did not have a community-property interest in the residence. The trial court granted the divorce, ordered that Lewis pay to Theresa $12.50 per month, and granted Theresa a life estate in the residence at 1609 East 110th Street. Lewis appealed the trial court's decision.
