Facts
Hector Rodriguez (plaintiff), a wheelchair user, was a tenant in a building owned by 551 West 157th Street Owners Corporation (corporation) (defendant). Rodriguez requested that the corporation install a lift or ramp that would make the building entrance accessible to wheelchairs. But the corporation refused to do so. Subsequently, Rodriguez brought suit, contending that the corporation violated the Fair Housing Act (FHA). The corporation filed a motion for summary judgment. The district court took the motion under advisement.
