Facts
Ellen Mendelsohn (plaintiff) filed a discrimination claim against Sprint (defendant) under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Mendelsohn sought to introduce evidence of discrimination by supervisors at Sprint other than her own. The district court excluded the evidence on the ground that it was not relevant to Mendelsohn’s individual discrimination claim. The court of appeals ruled that the district court abused its discretion in excluding the evidence. The United States Supreme Court granted certiorari.
