Facts
Sylvia Star (defendant) and Sandra Rabello (Sandra) (plaintiff) got into fight, which Star started. Sandra’s daughter, Lisa Rabello (Lisa) (plaintiff), witnessed the fight, which occurred at Lisa’s school. As a result of witnessing the fight, Lisa was embarrassed and later suffered headaches, stomachaches, and sleeplessness. Sandra and Lisa sued Star. Sandra sued for assault and battery. Lisa sued for outrage for having witnessed the fight. The trial judge awarded a judgment in favor of Sandra. Lisa also received a judgment in her favor for $300 for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Star appealed.
