Nebraska Supreme Court
144 N.W. 1039 (1914)
- Written by Daniel Clark, JD
Facts
A 12-year-old girl was enrolled in public school. The school’s required course sequence included domestic science, of which cooking comprised a portion of the curriculum. The girl’s father (plaintiff) asked the school (defendant) to excuse his daughter from the cooking lessons so that she could spend more time on her private music studies. The school refused, and the father sued. The district court held in favor of the father, and the school appealed.
