State ex rel. Weinstein v. St. Louis
Missouri Supreme Court
451 S.W.2d 99 (1970)
- Written by Meredith Hamilton Alley, JD
Facts
The attorney general filed a quo warranto suit on behalf of the St. Louis County Juvenile Court judge, Noah Weinstein (plaintiff) against St. Louis County and county officials (defendants). The purpose of the suit was to prevent the county and its agents from continuing to take certain actions concerning the juvenile courts’ employees, including hiring and managing employees in the administration and detention departments of the court, deciding how many employees should work in those departments, and setting employees’ compensation. Because it was a quo warranto suit, the Missouri Supreme Court had original jurisdiction to hear the matter.
