State v. Kagramany
Hawaii Court of Appeals
2015 Haw. App. LEXIS 431 (2015)

- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Vardan Kagramany (defendant) was charged with a crime. At trial, the prosecution (plaintiff) entered four still photographs taken from hotel security footage into evidence. The prosecution called Detective Meyer as a witness. Meyer testified over Kagramany’s objection that Kagramany was the person in the photographs. Kagramany was convicted, and he appealed, arguing that Meyer’s lay identification testimony was not helpful to the jury.
