Facts
Quick (defendant) was charged with the unlawful manufacture of intoxicating liquor in violation of South Carolina law. At trial, Quick made a motion for a direct verdict of acquittal at the close of the prosecution’s case. The trial court denied Quick’s motion and he was found guilty. Quick appealed.
