Facts
Crystal Shelly (defendant) was charged with robbery and burglary. At trial, the prosecution (plaintiff) called the victim’s roommate, Lustri, to testify against Shelly. Shelly sought to question Lustri about the fact that he was on probation and had recently violated the terms of that probation. The trial court did not allow this line of questioning. Shelly was convicted, and she appealed.
