Facts
V.T. (defendant) and two friends stayed the night at the home of one of V.T.’s relatives. Two days after they left, the relative discovered that her camcorder was missing. She reported the theft to the police. Police found the camcorder at a pawn shop. Inside the camcorder was a tape containing footage that showed one of V.T.’s friends on the phone discussing his plans to pawn the camcorder. V.T. was shown in the footage as well. He neither spoke nor gestured during the phone call. V.T. was charged with the theft of the camcorder. The juvenile court found him guilty.
