Facts
Holland Hospitality, Inc. (Holland) (defendant) terminated Turic (plaintiff), because she was pregnant and considering having an abortion. Turic sued Holland under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq. Turic prevailed in the district court and was awarded several forms of relief, including $50,000 in compensation for emotional distress.
