Facts
The government sought to condemn Aangamik 15 tablets for containing an unsafe chemical additive. FoodScience Labs (defendant), the manufacturer of the tablets, argued that the unsafe chemical could not be considered an additive because there was so much of the chemical in the product that it was essentially a principal ingredient. The district court ruled in the government’s favor, and FoodScience appealed.
