Facts
Derek Blackmon and his coconspirators (defendants) were indicted for allegedly defrauding several elderly women using a scheme in which the women were convinced to give Blackmon and the coconspirators money for high-return investments. A district court jury found Blackmon and the coconspirators guilty of (1) conspiracy to commit wire fraud and (2) substantive wire fraud.
