United States v. Frank
United States District Court for the Southern District of New York
11 F.Supp.2d 341 (1998)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Deric Frank (defendant), an alleged drug dealer, was charged with the murder of his former girlfriend, Shaneika Price. The prosecution’s case theory was that Frank killed Price because he thought she was cooperating with police about his drug dealing. Additionally, the prosecution believed that the murder was the culmination of a long history of Frank domestically abusing Price. In furthering these theories, the prosecution sought to introduce evidence of Frank’s drug dealing and of his past abuse of Price. Frank objected to the admission of this evidence.
