United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
842 F.3d 1299 (2016)
- Written by Serena Lipski, JD
Facts
Green (defendant) was convicted of a federal firearm crime. During Green’s trial, the government introduced evidence of Green’s previous conviction for the same crime. Green moved to exclude the evidence of the conviction because it resulted from a nolo contendere plea. The trial court admitted the evidence, and Green appealed, arguing that evidence of his prior conviction should not have been admitted.
