United States v. Mandoka
United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
869 F.3d 448 (2017)

- Written by Darius Dehghan, JD
Facts
George Howard Mandoka (defendant) was charged with sexually assaulting his stepdaughter, BJ, and his niece, EB. The government (plaintiff) sought to introduce evidence of Mandoka’s prior sexual assault against his other niece, JG. All three assaults involved Mandoka fondling the genitals of his female family members, namely, his stepdaughter and his two nieces. The three victims were roughly the same age at the time of their respective assaults. The district-court judge admitted evidence of Mandoka’s assault against JG. Subsequently, Mandoka was convicted of sexually assaulting BJ and EB. Mandoka appealed.
