United States v. Pasley
United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
629 Fed. App’x 378 (2015)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
Corey Pasley (defendant) was a security guard at an apartment complex. In Pasley’s presence, Amos Singleton robbed the apartment complex’s main office, shooting Barbara Jablokov, the owner of the complex, in the process. Evidence indicated that Pasley knew Singleton, did nothing to stop the robbery, and actually assisted. At trial, the prosecution (plaintiff) introduced a copy of the apartment’s security footage from the day in question. The video was introduced from a thumb drive. Pasley was convicted, and he appealed, arguing that the district court should have required the original of the security footage rather than a copy.
