Facts
Emmanuel Patterson (defendant) was charged with bank robbery. Patterson planned to testify in his own defense. The prosecution (plaintiff) filed a motion in limine under Federal Rule of Evidence 609, seeking to introduce three prior convictions of Patterson’s that had occurred nine years prior for carrying a gun without a license, conspiracy, and robbery. Patterson filed a motion in limine to exclude the prior convictions.
