Facts
Pina (defendant) was charged with a crime in which the involvement of interstate commerce was an essential element. At trial, the government attempted to prove this element by soliciting testimony regarding the “Made in China” marking on one of the computers seized in the case. Pina objected, arguing that the country-of-origin label was hearsay.
