Facts
Luke Scarmazzo and Ricardo Montes (defendants) were charged with knowingly or intentionally manufacturing, distributing, dispensing, or possessing with intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense a controlled substance. The government (plaintiff) filed a motion in limine to prevent the defense from introducing any evidence or suggesting that Scarmazzo and Montes had a good-faith belief that marijuana had medical value or that they relied on the advice of an attorney as to the legality of their conduct.
