Facts
Dwayne Scheuermann (defendant) was charged with crimes related to the burning of Henry Glover under the color of law enforcement in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. At trial, Scheuermann sought to introduce character evidence in the form of pictures of him helping non-law-enforcement residents and performing other rescue activities in the immediate wake of the hurricane. The prosecution (plaintiff) objected to the introduction of the photographs.
