Facts
Undocumented immigrants who worked as janitors (plaintiffs) in various stores owned by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Wal-Mart) (defendant) filed a class action suit against Wal-Mart. Their suit alleged, among other things, that Wal-Mart falsely imprisoned its undocumented immigrant janitors by locking them into its stores during the janitors’ shifts. Additionally, the complaint alleged that Wal-Mart falsely imprisoned the janitors by threatening to deport them. Wal-Mart moved to dismiss the suit.
