Definition

A provision of the Bankruptcy Code that authorizes confirmation of a Chapter 11 reorganization plan where, with respect to unsecured creditors, either they receive property equivalent to the value of their claims or no holder of a junior claim or interest receives or retains property on account of such status, subject to an exception involving an individual debtor.
