28 U.S.C. § 1251

Definition

A federal statute providing that the United States Supreme Court has original and exclusive jurisdiction over controversies between two or more states and original but nonexclusive jurisdiction over cases involving ambassadors or certain other officials of foreign states, cases between the United States and a state, and cases commenced by a state against citizens of another state or against individuals who are not citizens of the United States.
