Definition

A federal law intended to protect children from sexual abuse and prevent the exploitation of children through child pornography. The Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) is Title 1 of the Walsh Act. SORNA established the three-tier system for sex offender registration, expanded registration requirements, and established a national offender database.
