Definition

An agreement with a union that requires an employer not to handle or use particular products. Section 8(e) of the National Labor Relations Act allows hot-cargo agreements to preserve jobs traditionally performed by union workers but not to make an employer boycott a second employer with whom the union has a labor dispute.
