International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR)

Definition

Part of the International Bill of Human Rights, the ICESCR is a United Nations treaty obliging signatory states to work toward the promotion of economic, social, and cultural rights, including housing rights, healthcare rights, education rights, and labor rights. Implementation of the ICESCR is monitored by the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
