Facts
Al Odah (plaintiff) and other aliens captured abroad during hostilities in Afghanistan and held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, brought actions for a writ of habeas corpus. The district court held that it lacked jurisdiction, and Al Odah appealed. Al Odah argued that he was not an enemy combatant nor an enemy alien.
