Caruso v. Blockbuster-Sony Music Entertainment Centre
United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
193 F.3d 730 (1999)

- Written by Darius Dehghan, JD
Facts
William Caruso (plaintiff), a wheelchair user, attended a concert at the Blockbuster-Sony Music Entertainment Centre (centre) (defendant). Subsequently, Caruso filed suit against the centre, bringing a number of claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). One claim alleged that the centre violated the ADA because it did not provide wheelchair users with lines of sight over standing spectators. The district court granted summary judgment to the centre on the lines-of-sight claim. Caruso appealed.
