Finan v. Finan
Connecticut Supreme Court
949 A.2d 468 (2008)
- Written by Sean Carroll, JD
Facts
John Finan (defendant) and Meredith Finan (plaintiff) were married. Meredith filed a petition for divorce. At trial, Meredith attempted to introduce evidence that John had dissipated marital assets by unilaterally spending significant amounts of money prior to the couple's separation. The trial court declined to take this into account in its distribution of marital assets. The appellate court declined review, and Meredith appealed to the Connecticut Supreme Court.
