Facts
Mary Hardy (plaintiff) filed a petition for divorce from her husband, James Hardy (defendant), on the ground of adultery. After a hearing, the trial court granted the divorce, reserved alimony to Mary, and equitably divided the Hardys’ property. The trial court also required Mary and James to each pay the indebtedness in their respective names, which was approximately $32,000 from James and $2,800 from Mary. James appealed.
