Lester v. Lennane
California Court of Appeal
101 Cal. Rptr. 2d 86 (2000)
- Written by Serena Lipski, JD
Facts
Judith Lester had a child with James Lennane following a brief affair in Sacramento. Lester was a California resident, and Lennane resided in Florida with his wife and older child. Before her daughter’s birth, Lester filed a paternity complaint to establish Lennane’s paternity and a motion for custody, child support, and health and dental costs. Lennane conceded paternity. Following the birth of the child, the trial court issued a temporary order granting Lennane one hour of visitation per day. The court later issued another temporary order increasing Lennane’s parenting time and allowing overnights on Saturday nights. Lennane appealed these temporary orders.
