Lorenz v. Lorenz
California Court of Appeal
146 Cal. App. 3d 464 (1983)
- Written by Whitney Kamerzel , JD
Facts
Helma Lorenz (plaintiff) filed for divorce from James Lorenz (defendant). James had two assets that the trial court did not consider community property. The first asset was James’s term life-insurance policy. Unlike whole life-insurance policies, the term life-insurance policy expired after a certain time period and did not offer a cash surrender value. The second asset was James’s 120 hours of vacation time. If not used, James’s vacation time would not be paid. Helma appealed.
