Facts
Pagelsdorf (plaintiff) was helping Mary Katherine Blattner move furniture when a railing on her porch collapsed and Pagelsdorf fell. Blattner leased her home from Richard Mahnke. The railing that broke was found to be defective. Pagelsdorf brought suit against Mahnke. The jury found that Mahnke had no knowledge of the defective condition of the railing and the verdict was entered in favor of Mahnke. Pagelsdorf appealed.
