Facts
Reid (defendant) and an accomplice, Riddles, were charged with robbery for taking money from individuals by the use of force even though they were attempting to recover money owed to them. The trial judge did not allow Reid’s defense of a good faith claim of right because he had used force. Reid was convicted and he appealed.
