Facts
Prah (plaintiff) owned a house that used a solar-energy system for heat and hot water. The system had solar panels on the roof to supply the necessary energy. Maretti (defendant) bought an adjacent lot and planned to build a house on his lot. When Prah found out the proposed location of the house, he told Maretti that at that particular location, the house would block sunlight from getting to the solar panels on Prah’s roof and in doing so reduce the efficiency of and cause other damage to the solar system. Maretti went ahead with construction anyway. Prah instituted an action seeking injunctive relief. The Waukesha County Circuit Court granted summary judgment to Maretti. Prah appealed.
