Price v. Price
Texas Court of Civil Appeals
591 S.W.2d 601 (1979)
- Written by Whitney Kamerzel , JD
Facts
Betty Price (plaintiff) sued Scottie Price (defendant) for a divorce and a division of the parties’ community property. The trial court granted the divorce and divided the property, which consisted of household goods and furniture. In addition, the trial court ordered Scottie to pay Betty $4,000 in order to reach an equitable community-property distribution. Scottie appealed, arguing the $4,000 award was an award for permanent alimony and therefore contrary to Texas’ public policy.
