Williams v. Williams
District of Columbia Court of Appeals
390 A.2d 4 (1978)
- Written by Salina Kennedy, JD
Facts
Mr. Williams (plaintiff) and Mrs. Williams (defendant) bought a home in Maryland and moved to the home from their former residence in the District of Columbia. Mr. Williams paid for the home, and the couple took title jointly as tenants by the entirety. One month later, Mrs. Williams deserted Mr. Williams and moved back to the District of Columbia, where Mr. Williams filed for divorce. The trial court granted the divorce and, applying District of Columbia law, conveyed Mrs. Williams’s interest in the home to Mr. Williams. Mrs. Williams appealed.
