Charitable gift

Definition

A gift of cash or assets to a charitable organization, typically a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. A donor may make a charitable gift outright or in trust to require the charitable entity to apply the gift assets to the donor’s intended charitable purpose and restrict their use for general purposes.
