Operational Test
Definition
The requirement that an organization seeking exemption from income taxation under § 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code must demonstrate that it engages primarily in activities that accomplish one or more exempt purposes specified in § 501(c)(3) and that no more than an insubstantial part of the organization’s activities furthers a nonexempt purpose.
