Facts
Mr. Errington and other individuals (defendants) covered a sleeping man with straw and threw a shovel of hot cinders on him. The straw ignited, and the man burned to death. The defendants were charged with the man’s death, and the jury was asked to consider whether they were guilty of murder or manslaughter.
