Facts
Salomon Smith Barney Inc. (plaintiff) sought a preliminary injunction against a former employee, Stewart Vockel (defendant). Salomon Smith Barney claimed that Vockel took confidential client data and solicited those clients to move to his new employer, Paine Webber. In 1994, Vockel had done the same thing when he left his position at Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. for Salomon Smith Barney.
