Facts
The father of Sheila Roberts Ford (plaintiff) was shot and killed, allegedly by a member or members of the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office. Ford wanted to bring a lawsuit against someone for the shooting, but did not know the specific facts surrounding the shooting, and thus did not know the appropriate defendant. Ford filed a petition seeking leave to depose Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin in order to determine the facts surrounding her father’s shooting.
